In critical societies, people are encouraged
to dissent, to say what they believe, and
to discuss and debate in good faith. They
value the importance of dissent and expect
dissent as a matter of course.
Think of your own examples of dissenters, or those
who go against (or have gone against) mainstream
views. What are some important consequences of
their actions? See if you can find examples in the
newspaper or another news source or book.
