Identify Group Control and Group Conformity
Group conformity and group control are often very dangerous. Because people don’t see themselves conforming when they are, in fact, highly submissive to group beliefs, those who hold persuasive and literal power in the group can easily move the majority to do what is against their interests or those of other sentient creatures.
Below, articulate three or four examples of both group control and group conformity which illuminate these problems. Then find examples of both in the news, a book, or an essay. Consider some examples in which people are “recruited” by those in control through effective propaganda.
